The Acting U.S Register of Copyrights made a letter to American Law Institute asserting the interest of “restating” copyright law that can cause a burden on lawyers in the media business. The American Law Institute has no proper legal rule, but its Restatements are frequently used by lawyers and mentioned by judges.
Music/media industry lawyers are concerned that this exact Restatement will outline copyright law in a way to liberate the protections of creators and rightsholders. Even though, this Restatement can’t prevail anything detailed in statute.
