Why You May Think New Music Sucks? | MUSIK !D TV NEWS
Ever wonder when your taste for music begins? Well, Seth Stephens-Davidowitz can answer that question. Stephens-Davidowitz, an author, created a project explaining how one's musical taste starts.
While using Spotify for his data, Seth discovered that males form their long-lasting musical preferences at ages 13 to 16, and females form theirs at ages 11 to 14. Stephens-Davidowitz observed a distinct trend when males and females enter their 20s. During this term, new songs turn out to be partially interesting to them.
Also, Stephens-Davidowitz perceived a generation gap during his research. For example, ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ by Roy Orbison is played by 69-year-old women, since the song was released in 1964.
