Recently, Google has released a new way for musicians to connect precisely with fans. Musicians can upload videos, GIFs, pictures and regular text to a noticeable space insider their search results’ “Knowledge Panel,” the closed-off section includes photos, a biography and links to websites like YouTube and Spotify. Musicians can supervise the customized content and become verified by having a blue checkmarks near their name(s), so that fans can tell if the updates are authentic.
“Google and YouTube’s goal is to support and empower artists across the board. Giving artists the ability to manage how they show up on Google when fans are searching for information is critical, so I’m really pleased to see this new feature be made available to artists worldwide.” – Lyor Cohen, YouTube’s Global Head of Music
