Piracy has become more prevalent than ever! There have been 300 billion visits to piracy sites, which is insane! According to MUSO’s 2017 Global Piracy Report, music piracy sites had 73.9 billion visits, and TV/video-related piracy sites are taking the lead.
MUSO explained how there are five different types of piracy sites within music: web streaming sites, web download sites, streaming ripping sites, public torrent sites, and private torrent sites. Markedly, music piracy is massively curved towards mobile users by 87%. Although, some piracy sites declined by 34% by the end of 2017.
